What is Longevity San Diego?

Longevity San Diego is a free, science-based community for people in San Diego who want to stay healthy for longer. It is the San Diego chapter of Longevity Cities, for anyone who wants to talk about the habits that shape aging well, from movement and sleep to food and friendships, without needing to be an expert.

The chapter kicks off with its first event: Matcha & Walk on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 2 PM. The group meets at Spill the Beans, picks up matcha or coffee to go, hears a bit about the health benefits of matcha and then walks along the Embarcadero, San Diego's bay-front promenade. More dates will follow on this page, and the mild climate leaves plenty of room for beach, bay and park meetups.

Joining is free: create an account, join the San Diego WhatsApp group linked on this page and register for the walk in the calendar. Longevity San Diego is a community, not a longevity clinic. People come here to meet others, learn, compare notes on tests and check-ups, and ask questions.

Frequently asked questions

What is Longevity San Diego?
Longevity San Diego is the San Diego chapter of Longevity Cities, a free and non-commercial community for healthy aging. It connects people in San Diego who want to learn about movement, sleep, nutrition and other everyday habits together, with science as the filter and no selling involved. The chapter is just starting, with its first event, a Matcha & Walk, scheduled for October 18, 2026.
Is there a longevity clinic in San Diego?
Longevity San Diego is not a clinic, it is a free community, and we never diagnose or treat. Longevity clinics and concierge practices do operate in California, with programs in the US typically ranging from a few thousand to over 20,000 dollars a year. To judge an offer, look for a named physician who is responsible, and be cautious about promises to reverse aging or pressure to buy supplements.
How can I get my biological age tested in San Diego?
The simplest options are a mail-in epigenetic age test (roughly 200 to 500 dollars), a yearly biomarker blood-testing membership (roughly 350 to 500 dollars a year) or a lab panel ordered with your doctor. For a free starting point, this site offers a face-age test, a VO2max calculator and a grip-strength check with age norms. Treat any single biological age number as a rough snapshot, not a verdict.
What longevity events are happening in San Diego?
The first Longevity San Diego event is Matcha & Walk on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 2 PM, starting at Spill the Beans. The group takes matcha or coffee to go, hears about the health benefits of matcha and walks along the Embarcadero. Registration is in the calendar on this page. It is the chapter's opening event, so more formats and dates will be added there as the group grows.
Is there a walking group along the Embarcadero or by the beach?
Yes, the Matcha & Walk on October 18, 2026 is a relaxed group walk along the Embarcadero, and you do not need to drink matcha to join, coffee works too. The pace is conversational, so beginners fit right in. Where the group walks after that is open: Balboa Park, Mission Bay and the coast are all natural candidates, and suggestions from members are welcome.
Where can I find a biohacking community in San Diego?
Longevity San Diego is a free community for anyone in San Diego who likes to experiment with healthy habits and wants an honest second opinion. San Diego is home to major research institutions such as UC San Diego, the Salk Institute and Scripps Research, and the community's aim is to keep the conversation evidence-based. Questions between meetups go into the San Diego WhatsApp group linked on this page.
How do I meet people in San Diego if I am new or come alone?
Start with the first Matcha & Walk: it opens with introductions, then everyone walks and talks, which is far easier than making small talk at a bar. Coming alone is the norm at a new chapter, and you do not need a fitness background or any equipment. You will meet people who care about living well, whatever their age or job.
Will Longevity San Diego have regular meetups?
That is the plan: the chapter is opening with a walk on October 18, 2026, and regular formats will grow from what members enjoy most, such as more walks, talks or shared meals. No fixed schedule is published yet, so new dates appear in the calendar on this page. If you would like to help organize or host a gathering in San Diego, say so in the WhatsApp group.
What does Longevity San Diego cost and how do I join?
Joining Longevity San Diego is free: create an account, join the San Diego WhatsApp group linked on this page and sign up for the Matcha & Walk in the calendar. The walk itself costs nothing, you just pay for your own matcha or coffee at Spill the Beans if you want one. There is no membership fee, and each event listing states any costs upfront.
