What is Longevity Heidelberg?

Longevity Heidelberg is a free, science-based community for people in Heidelberg who want to stay healthy for longer. It is the Heidelberg chapter of Longevity Cities, launched in April 2026 in the university town on the Neckar. You do not need a background in ageing science, just a wish to build simple habits and meet people who share it.

The programme so far is hands-on and friendly. The launch event on 11 April 2026 combined a contemporary Pilates class led by the chapter lead, a few longevity challenges and a talk about the project by one of its co-founders. It was followed by Glow and Sip Sunday at Café Nomad, a soft Sunday space for real conversations about simple habits, and a beginner-friendly pole flow and Gua Sha morning in June 2026. New dates are announced on this page.

Joining is free: create an account, join the Heidelberg WhatsApp group linked on this page and watch the calendar. Longevity Heidelberg is a community, not a health club, gym, longevity clinic or medical practice. People come here to move, learn, compare notes on tests and check-ups, and ask questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Heidelberg?+

Longevity Heidelberg is the Heidelberg chapter of Longevity Cities, a free and non-commercial community for healthy ageing that launched with a Pilates and community event on 11 April 2026. Members meet for movement classes, relaxed Sunday cafe sessions and workshops. Everyone is welcome, and no scientific or fitness background is needed to join in.

Is Longevity Heidelberg a longevity health club or gym?+

No, Longevity Heidelberg is not a health club, gym or spa: it is a free community, so there are no memberships, contracts or equipment fees to sign up for. What you get are meetups with movement, such as the contemporary Pilates class at the launch, plus conversations about habits and health. If you are looking for a gym, a studio or a doctor, we can help you compare notes with others who have looked around.

Is there a longevity clinic or longevity doctor in Heidelberg?+

Private longevity check-ups are available in the wider Rhine-Neckar region, but Longevity Heidelberg is not a clinic: we are a free community and do not diagnose or treat. A private check-up in Germany typically costs roughly 1,500 to 2,500 euros without imaging, and statutory insurance does not pay. Be cautious if a treatment plan is offered before any tests have been done, and talk to your GP first.

Where can I test my biological age in Heidelberg?+

In Heidelberg you can order an epigenetic age test by post (roughly 130 to 400 euros), get an extended blood panel through your GP or a private lab (roughly 150 to 450 euros), or track fitness markers such as VO2max and grip strength, which you can estimate for free on this website along with a face-age test. Epigenetic results still differ between providers, so read a single value as a snapshot.

What longevity events are there in Heidelberg?+

Longevity Heidelberg is a young chapter, launched in April 2026. Past events included the launch on 11 April 2026 with a Pilates class and longevity challenges, Glow and Sip Sunday at Café Nomad on 10 May 2026 and a pole flow and Gua Sha morning on 13 June 2026. New dates are published in the calendar on this page.

Is there a Pilates or movement group in Heidelberg for beginners?+

Yes, movement is part of Longevity Heidelberg. The launch featured a contemporary Pilates class led by the chapter lead at Ringstraße 19, and in June 2026 a very beginner-friendly pole flow class was followed by a facial self-massage session with Gua Sha. You do not need prior experience, and the classes are meant as a friendly way to try something new with new people.

Where can I find a healthy-living and biohacking community in Heidelberg?+

Longevity Heidelberg is a free place in Heidelberg to talk about healthy living with an evidence filter. The city has a lot of scientific expertise, with the University of Heidelberg, the German Cancer Research Center and EMBL, and the community brings that curiosity into everyday questions: which habits matter, which gadgets are worth it, and what to skip. The Heidelberg WhatsApp group keeps the conversation going.

How can I meet new people in Heidelberg?+

Longevity Heidelberg is a friendly way to meet people in Heidelberg because the formats are small and conversation-first. Glow and Sip Sunday at Café Nomad was described as a soft Sunday space to meet and share ideas from the most basic to the wildest, and classes at Ringstraße 19 give you something to do together. You can come alone, and the WhatsApp group helps with the first step.

Are Longevity Heidelberg events in English or German?+

Longevity Heidelberg events are announced in English, which suits the many international students, researchers and newcomers in a university town, and German speakers are just as welcome. Each listing shows the language of a class or talk, so you know what to expect before you go.

What does Longevity Heidelberg cost and how do I join?+

Longevity Heidelberg is free to join: create an account, join the Heidelberg WhatsApp group linked on this page and register for a date in the calendar. You pay for your own drinks at a cafe meetup, and movement classes at a studio can come with limited spots or a class fee, which each listing states upfront.
